During August-October 2012 EMC evaluated the Czech organization "People in Need" (PIN) working project "Economical development of the rural regions of western Georgia" funded by the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs and co-funded by European Union.

The purpose of the evaluation was to identify lessons learnt of the project and provide recommendations on economical development to PIN for future projects to focus. The evaluation also assessed PIN economic development program from broader perspective and the impact of the program, number of new SMEs started in target districts compared to other comparable districts where other donor-funded development programs were implemented, percentage of the businesses supported that were sustainable, their turnover and profit development through time.

Evaluation also looked into the number of people who have steady income as a result of the program; the average income of the people engaged in the supported businesses (employees and employers); types of created jobs (stable contracts, seasonal work, self-employment); main obstacles for entrepreneurs in the targeted area to engage in developing value added products; key strengths and weaknesses of the program. The evaluation looked for the Efficiency, Effectiveness and Sustainability of the PIN project.

EMC Workshop in Frankfurt and Main, Germany

Project Cycle, Monitoring and Evaluation

On March 22, 2018 EMC is organizing one-day workshop in Frankfurt, Germany on the topic Project Cycle, Monitoring and Evaluation. EMC’s President Nino Saakashvili will conduct the workshop.Workshop will provide an overview of results-based management including result based project management, monitoring and evaluation (M&E) with an emphasis of tools and methods for successfully managing the projects and achieving its objectives. The workshop will cover fundamental concepts of project management, methods of project Monitoring & Evaluation, results measurement indicators and frameworks. Also, evaluation processes including evaluation planning, collecting and analyzing data, developing evaluation report and communicating results.
